Where do you get Studio Clients from?

Hi ya,

Okay so I thought in the lull we can ask some business questions.
So where do all your studio clients come from.
1) Ads in trade mags, local street pres.
2) Flyers placed in rehearsal rooms.
3) Word of mouth
4) Your studio is part of a rehearsal chain.
5) Going out and finding bands in Venues.
6) From outside producers.

Which HDR for Client "Bedroom" collaborations

Lately clients have been asking me for recommendations as to which of the current crop of hardware hard disk recorders they should buy. Their goal is to be able to take mixes of rhythm tracks, etc. that they do in my studio back to their "bedroom" so that they can add some overdubs at their leisure, without the pressure of my clock running.

Teaching clients why to "Have It Professionally Mastered"

Forums

I know the importance of mastering by a mastering engineer. But trying to tell most of my clients this is like speaking to them in Latin. My mastering guy has given me some good things to say that helps, but most of them really don't get it, all they hear is what it cost and all things considered it's pretty cheap. They see the Finalizer and Masterlink and say won't that do?
