Which digital recorder to buy?
Forums
Howdy,
This is my first post ever, so please forgive any unintentional tramplings on etiquette.
I'm trying to decide which digital recorder to buy. I have a few general criteria:
1. The capability of producing pro-studio quality masters. (Whether or not my skills develop to that point is still to be determined.)

malfunctioning digital recorder
Forums
My Roland VS 840 EX digital recorder has erased my last 2 songs I've attempted to record. I get halfway through a song and all of a sudden when I go to perform a routine function on the recorder, the disk(zip) either no longer has the song data or the data has been jumbled into an incoherent mess.

digital recorders

Not sure if this thread has come up, but I figured this was the place to look. I don't do much recording by myself other than demos, but I'm looking to upgrade to the 21st century (yes, I'm still using an old cassette 4track), and thinking a digital SIAB.
I was looking at the Korg D1200 and 1600, as well as the Yamaha AW16G (from reputation, these came to mind).

Best Stand-alone digital recorder?
Forums
Hello,
Thanks to all for your input on building the studio.
I'm going to go the computer route. However, I've got a bunch of stuff that I'd like to record asap in highest quality form that I can burn to CD, while I complete the longer term goal of building and learning the computer system.

Best portable digital recorder ?
Forums
What’s the best standalone digital recorder - soundwise i mean .
Thinking about purchasing between Alesis ADAT HD24, Tascam MX2424, Mackie or even Otari II to use with my Mackie 1604 VLZ-Pro?
Or get a Roland VS xx, Yamaha or even Korg ?
And which one will let me bring the soundfiles the easiest way into PT/tdm 24 Core ?
