too many volume levels

i am using an ART tube MP preamp, auto technica 2020 microphone and adobe audition 1.5 to record vocals...
the feedback on the vocals is still very unbalance the preamp has an input and output and I'm not sure at what level they should be, should the output be louder than the input?
the adobe has a lot of filters to reduce feedback and hissing

please help, gain levels low, hiss

I'm new to recording and while tracking my gain levels were low(i know)...i have to turn it up pretty high when playing back...but i get hiss from the speakers at this point and it sounds terrible...any ideas?maybe run the whole thing through a pre to bring it up?

please..any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Adjusting/standardizing Trim levels on Firepod

We have 3 PreSonus Firepods daisy chained together that we are using to record birds in a specially designed room for our biological research. Currently for our setup we have XLR condenser microphones that require 48V phantom power plugged into the front of the firepods and are recording 44.1 @ 24bits.

Hi,
I have played in tracks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9/10.

I bounced them to 15/16.

When I listen to 15/16 it sounds fine, but on the CD I make I can barely hear tracks 4 and 6 (the piano and bass). I even turned them up extra loud, but they won't come through loudly.

Is there something I'm not doing?

I have the MR-16.

Digi 003 Having trouble making connections / setting levels

Hello.

I'm Daniel. I'm new here.

I'm recording a synth using the Digi 003.

Everyone tells me it's best to mic an amp for this, but that won't work for me because A) theres too much noise in my house, and B) the only amp I own is a cheapo Behringer bass amp.

So I have to go direct into the Digi 003.

Can huge input levels harm VMP inputs?

I've got a VMP 2000e which I love and use every day. Sometimes I use the first ch to overdrive the 2nd ch, like with guitar, synth, etc.

What I'm wondering is: can extremely hot levels harm the inputs? My memory and experience is that they cannot be harmed by huge input levels but just want to be sure.
