hey guys ive just bought a macbook and when i plugin my fireface 800 nothing happens. There is no automatic pop-up or new device found. Also, nothing comes up in devices in Cubase sx3.

Could my firewire port be faulty? Or a setup thing?

Hi everyone, I'm looking to get into the world of computer based recording, and at the moment I'm saving money to buy a laptop. I'm looking into the Apple Macbook 2.0 ghz intel core duo with 2 gb of ram. Ideally I'd buy that and a firepod to go with it. Would the macbook be able to handle recording the possible 8 tracks at once?

Well, I'm pretty much tired of windows. The reason I'd use windows again is for PC games. (unless I test out Windows Vista and I like it...) I want a Mac (and I can use Bootcamp anyway), I don't really have to list the reasons why I want one. I'm posting this here obviously because I want to record with this machine.

Was considering an upgrade from PC to the MacBook Pro.. is this is good idea?

I really want to get a macbook but have heard a lot of bad things about the whine that it makes. If you google it, you will know. Even on the Apple boards, I saw this. Anybody who owns a macbook here and having those problems?

I've been using my old computer (P4 1.6) for years for music production and currently want to purchase a new machine. For my own convenience, I'd like to aquire a laptop for music production (I'm using Reason, Cubase SX and Firepod).

Is anyone using MacBook Pro for recording and mixing purpoase? I'd like to hear some opinion, thanks!

I will be reciving my Macbook pro soon and would like to know which software to run my tracks on. I have a Tascam US-122 USB interface and will be doing lots of layering with midi files, guitars, bass, vocals etc.

It looks like this has 2 processors and that makes it 4 times faster than the newest Powerbook 1.67! Did I make a mistake in buying a Powerbook 1.67 recently?
