recorded audio is always off tempo on playback! Latency?

Hello..

I am new to recording and Cubase. I am using a Tascam US-122 Audio/Midi interface, Cubase Studio 4 and a Athlon 3400+, 2 gig ram and Sound Blaster X-Fi.

I have my guitar running to a digital FX unit, which runs to the Tascam, which goes to the PC through USB. My headphones are in the out of the soundcard (obviously),,

hissing/cut off sound in ear-monitor mix

Hi,

I have brand new in-ear monitors with an older Shure (receiver?) body pack.
I also have a wireless head set (with transmitter body pack) and Sennheiser wireless sax mic (with transmitter attached to the horn itself.)

I'm getting a hissing sound in my in-ear monitors that intermitantly cuts off for split second.

Any way to get samples off Yamaha S90?

I am tracking a pianist for a band who loves the sound of one of his samples on the S90, and I am tracking midi and audio. I'll end up cleaning up the performance with the midi, but once he leaves I won't have the samples to trigger. How can I (if possible) get the samples off of his keyboard into my computer. It has a USB connection...

Bought a package off Ebay, need help

I bought a MobilePreUSB preamp off ebay and it came with Live Lite 4 as well as a demo version of Cool Edit Pro. If anyone remembers my post in the budget forum, I'm just starting out, trying to record my friend's small band's first album so it doesn't have to be anything spectacular. Is Live Lite 4 good enough for what I want to do?

Getting the amp off the floor.

Is this done to avoid reflections (from/off the floor) or to minimize vibrations, say up through the mic stand and into the mic? Or both?

Additionally, is there really a preference as to how high? If for the reflection issue, couldn't you just tilt it back?

Lastly, should a stand that permits the least amount of resonance be chosen...if for vibration?
