What mics should I use for recording an outdoor wedding?
Forums
I'm getting married in a couple of weeks! We're having amateurs do AV recording. I've got a PreSonus Firebox (shortly after the whole scandal where people found out it wasn't actually 96ksps, as advertised, but 48ksps and digitally up-sampled internally). It has six inputs, of which two are microphone inputs, and two are line inputs, and two are probably useless (S/PDIF and MIDI).
Basic tips for mixing an outdoor gig
Forums
Hi
First post here.
A friend asked me if i can be their FOH man for a couple of gigs. I've been working in studios for a while now but I've never really did any live work.
At the moment i know that this club is "fully equipped" what ever that means...but i don't know how exactly..

Any advice for outdoor concert?
Forums
I've had plenty of experience micing/mixing/amping my band indoors. But now we have our first outdoor gig coming up in a couple of weeks. I'm sure I have plenty of power to get the sound level I want, so that's not an issue.

Outdoors with a tube amp
I play a regular outdoor gig throughout the Summer here in the UK which has my trio set up under a band stand with open sides but overhead cover. I have recently purchased a tube amp and it got me thinking if outside playing can damage a tube amp. The gigs are May - September and many of them are in the evening finishing at 10pm.

PA system - what power for outdoor use?...
Forums
Hi everyone,
I'm working on a performance art piece which is to take place outdoors, in a field, so there's no reflection to work with.
The audience will be composed of roughly 30 people, seated.

WANTED: IR or Suggestions For Outdoor Ambience
Forums
Hi,
I have some dialogue I need to process in such a way that it -sounds- like the people are talking at a seaside beach. You know... wind... waves... the odd seagull in the background.
No, the dialogue can't be re-recorded live.

Hello All,
I want to do a local live recording of a group that will be performing outside next month. One of my apprehensions are the PC DAW that I want to use. Mainly cooling.
Does anyone have any recommendations for doing this type of recording without the PC shutting down because it gets too hot?

Outdoor recording fun. .not!
Forums
Last night we did our annual recording of the Commencement Band on the college's band stand for the local college. Since we have done this for many years we have it down to a basic setup which has worked well in the past.
This year they threw us a couple of curves.
