Anyone out there have experience with the modded c414b by audio upgrades?

Hi all, I'm at the stage where I think upgrading my pres might be a good plan. What I wanna know is are all these high end pres worth the extra cash over their budget rivals? Is there a real noticable difference between them and the budget stuff?

need to upgrade from Mackie mixer hell. I got $5k to spare for a 32chnl mixer for a home mixing project. I know this is not much for some of you pro but that is all i got.

I am going out from an otari MTR90MKII and sometime PT.

I have a Yamaha DM2000 with the 24db mod upgrade on the 2-bus. I am mixing out of the board AES EBU into a Hedd-192. I am mixing 24bit 44.1k. The mixes don't have the same bigness as some of the mixes I hear done on Pro Tools HD. Is there a compatibilty issue with the 24db headroom upgrade on the yamahe dm2000 going digital into the hedd-192.

I recall reading awhile back about you mentioning a cheap Ghost upgrade that was supposed to make it even better. As I've been getting to know my Ghost over the past couple of weeks, I'm really loving it but would be most interested in hearing about this upgrade.

Probably a dumb question but I don't know too much in this area. I'm not using keyboards or any midi interfaces or anything all software and using samples . just curious if I still need to get a better soundcard. If I'm not recording but just playing back through monitors will having a beter soundcard make a big difference in how good your mix will turn out?

I'm looking at making some upgrades to my monitoring system to the tune of around $500. I currently use a pair of Tannoy Proto Js and an Alesis RA-100. Am I better off getting new speakers or a better amp? Are the Tannoy Reveal (passives) going to be a significant improvement over the Protos?

Or should I just ditch the whole thing and get a set of powered MSP5?

hello. ive read this article in homerecording that u can actually upgrade an adk51 and make it sound like a Neumann u47 or something. i'm a bit warry. has anyone acutally tried this out? does it sound close to the real thing ... or world class at all? thanks.

I was running IE5 on my desktop and upgraded to IE6 SP1 to make some accounting software happy. Well, now I have NOTHING. Explorer loads, but only gives me the "web site unavailable" crappola. Outlook, which also upgraded, will not make contact witht he server. All the settings are the same in both, but neither will allow me to go online. I can GET online, but can't GO anywhere.
