So feel free to giggle, I've been mixing on a pair of Design Acoustics (A former subsidiary of Audio-Technica ) with 6 inch Radio Shack woofers and the original tweeters (though the left is poked in resulting in a loss of some high end, most notable in distorted guitars).

I'm currently planning to upgrade from a PreSonus Firepod DAW to a Pro Tools DAW... but man is Pro Tools confusing! I'm trained in operating Pro Tools, but I am having a hard time figuring out the actual hardware componments.

I’m looking to finally upgrade some of my home recording equipment and I’d love some advice on the direction to go.

I’d like to be able to record 6+ tracks simultaneously to logic or live (2 vocals, 2-3 miCD amp, drum mics, midi instruments) on my macbook pro (2.4gHz/OS10.5)

For many years, I have recorded my Wind Ensemble with multitrack cassettes and then DATs. It seems time to move into the 21st (or even at least 2oth) century. However, I start looking at the different options and get completely overwhelmed, not being familiar with the current trends.

i'm unhappy with my mixbus compared to what i was used to with my "in the box" daw, i now use digital performer with MOTU interfaces.

Like many other new recording enthusiasts I purchased the MXL 990/991 kit and have been using it for the past several years. However, I'm ready to upgrade (I've been ready) but with all the mics out there it's hard to make a decision knowing that there is a wealth of knowledge here that could lend a hand (or ear rather).
