$600 preamp for micphone

    Hi..everybody...This is my first post in here.

    Please let me introduce myself. :wink:

    I am from China...I like euro dance music...I want to study how to mix music. so,I bought RME 9632 in 2004.

    Now..I want to recording Vocal for dance music. so,I want to buy mic preamp.But, I don't know how to choise.( a lots of brands)

    only <$600...only for vocal...single ch mic pre...

    Voice Master Pro
    PreSonus eureka
    Toft Audio EC-1
    Joemeek 3Q
    Grace 101
    Mackie 1402 Mixer preamp......

    which better....

    I want to buy voice master pro. But,a lots of teachers tell me:"It is no good."

    they say:"Mackie 1402 Mixer preamp is enough."

    and...I listened Grace 101 is good.But,I am in China...I can't buy it...no agent.... :cry:

    I know a lots of brands....is Chia OEM.....

    What brands can you get in China? Maybe we could recommend from those you can get?

    Other than that, a mixer can be handy and does have preamps which can be OK. Further, ANY mic pre you can get for your budget price should be fine to get started on.

    at first glance the Grace is the best mic pre in that bunch by far, though I've never heard the Toft.

    the grace is a real clean pre- works good for most apps- unless you are looking for attitude- then you have to look some place else

    But,I must buy it from HongKong...and price > voice master pro price... 8)
