The DW Fearn mic pre is considered one of the best and truely beautiful sounding audio devices that one can obtain for any price. His compressor and eq are just as great and just as sweet. I was saving for one myself but ended up with the ViPre because I think it is more flexable tool. I still may get a Fearn one day.

I have the 737 many time. It is ok, but I am not fan. It is not even close to the sound of Fearn. The Fean is not perfect for ecrything and some people don't like the full and heavy type tube sound it has. But I do...

    thank yu
but the fearn is just a mic pre right?

if it was your only mic for vox would you use it vs an avalon737 ?
the avalon does eq and comp right?
    the fearn does not right?

DW Fearn makes separate products: a mic pre, eq and a compressor.

The Fearn mic pre has no eq. The 737 is a channel strip with a mic pre, eq and compressor so it is not a fair compare. In most cases I would likely always prefer the Fearn. If I liked or wanted to use a 737, I'd own one and I don't.
