I am searching for a decent software recorder to record audio. So far I've picked All Sound Recorder XP mainly because it can do all I need (like recording phone conversations, radio, editing, conversion) and costs two to three times less than most other titles. Did any one get All Sound Recorder XP? Anything good or bad? Or should I get something else? Please, keep it in the 20-30 dollar range

There's a program called Audacity which is free. You can separately download the LAME mp3 encoder from the same site to use with Audacity. Probably do everything that your XP thing will do and for free. Then you can keep saving for something more sophisticated. Did you buy a soundcard? If so, I'm surprised nothing came bundled with it.
