    How good is this book?
Mastering Audio: The Art and the Science
    https://www.amazon.ca/dp/0240818962/?tag=recording.org-20
And will it walk me through some really helpful steps to learn how to master. I know mastering takes a long time to learn , but I really want to learn how to. So I have been hearing alot about this book. But if I buy it I want to be be sure Im going to get something from it that will get me ready to go. Anybody hear about it or read it?

    It's a wonderful book!

I find that it does a better job helping you to understand WHAT mastering is and how to have tracks prepared prior to mastering.

That being said, there's some wonderful advice in the book and it resides permanently on the back of my studio's toilet (to me, the ultimate compliment for any studio literature.)

    Cheers!

    A) Agreed, it's a great book.

    B) It's *NOT* a book about "how to be a mastering engineer" or anything else of the sort. It should be required reading - But it's not a training manual for mastering.

It really is about "mastering" (in the broader sense) audio.

Its a good book. But I still think there is too much hearsay and opinion to be a great book. I would like some more rigorous tests and scientific method in an ultimate book on mastering.
