I had read many post about DIY preamps kits and myself been watching and thinking seriously about getting something done.

But is this question on my mind: Do the DIY kit preamps fill the need of self estime or they bring quality at not so expensive rates???

what i'm seriously looking for is cleaner, colored and quieter preamp, and the prices are relatively lows.

best DIy forum is http://www.prodigy-pro/forum man they are awesom over there. i get a bit lost over there now they've expanded it a bit, last time it took me a while to find the meta's. Anyway ask those bad mf's, they will help. Green Pre, SSL 9k pre, erm.. there's loads. Enjoy, lets us know when you've built one

    peace to you too

Actually i'm about to buy one from seventh circle audio or from JLM Audio.
    It won't be long.
    Thank you.

    both are fine products

if you have any trouble go straight to Tim or Joe for answers and I'm sure you will be happy.

Both these lads have Gain Block discrete opamp based units
a 3 stage discrete ... ClassA styled units (I think Joe's is ClassA output)

You will be happy with either.

    Thank you Kev.
Actually i have some experience in electronics, being an electromecanician.
Already built an all tube point to point guitar amp.
I took a decision and itis gonna be Seventh circle.

Was this your own design or one from the intranets or something? Do tell. I would like to try building a guitar amp next. (I've already done the SCA kits)

actually i was guided through all the build by the ax84.com site.
you got all the information about tube guitar amps.
i'm very happy with the results.
    good luck.
