I recently bought an Equation Audio F20 Mic on the adice of a friend in Nashville, TN. I wanted something a bit better for acoustic guitar, for $600 or less, preferably less. I found a couple used ones for $250 each. Have to say, I really like the mic. I had some reservations as there weren't a lot of reviews out there, and the reviews I found seemed to be partially coming from the company themselves on the sly; I uncovered a thread where they have been found out... Nonetheless, I like it a lot. IMO it beats my previous choices for acoustic guitar, and has a nice full sound - crisp highs, and fairly warm on the low end, smooth all around. It also performed admirably on solo trumpet - since I have so few mics, it was great to have an excellent sounding mic for an important trumpet project. I didn't like it as well on a soprano vocalist. She has a great voice, lots of experience, and great presence in her voice, and it was just to crispy for her. But all in all I'm very happy with my purchase. Anyone else use one of these mics?
