I am upgrading my studio completely this is what i have in mind of getting:
Mackie 24/8 board, Running into a Motu 24 I/O PCI into the DAW then coming back out of the Motu 24 I/O back into input B on the mackie for final Mixdown and finally ending up in the Alesis ML9600 Master Link CD Burner.

How does that setup sound or am i doing it totally wrong if u have an idea of a better way to do it for cheaper or a better way to do it period PLEASE let me know!!! Thanx

Well. Its starts to sound oldschool. But i would go that way anyday. as I like to see/feel the music at my fingers.

Will i get as god of a sound going that way as opposed to doing it all in the DAW

    "good sound".. wel.. That depends.

purely technical the signals would be noisier, But subjective, maybe the noise is more beautiful than the DAW sound..

I guess what I'm trying to say is: It will sound more than good enough. Well able to produce a professional record. IMHO

Ok awesome another question is what is the best way to run outboard gear as in mic pres and so on i figured it would be easier to run it with an actual analog mixer but i may be wrong what you say would be the best way to do that seeing as the direct outs come out before the eq and everything is my question making sense?
