What is the average size of a 1 minute (mono) audio file at 24 bit / 96kHz?

    Well, let's see...

    24 bits x 96,000 samples/sec = 2,304,000 bits/sec

    2,304,000 b/s x (1 bit/8 bytes) = 288,000 bytes/sec

    288,000 bytes/sec x (1 byte/1024 kbytes) = 281.25 kbytes/sec

    281.25 kbytes/sec x (1 kbyte/1024 Mbytes) = 0.27 Mbytes/sec

    0.27 Mbytes/sec x (60 sec/1 min) = 16.48 Mbytes/min

Glyph has a handy calculator on their site. This calculator is designed for calculating drive space required for entire sessions, not really individual files. You should find it at:
