Good mic for snare bottom?

I already mic my toms and top of my snare with SM57's. Is there an affordable mic out there that does well on the snare bottom. I feel I'm using too many 57's as is.....what do you think?

Maybe I can mic the bottom with a 57 and use something else on top?

I think any are "too many", but that's me.

I like the same mic on top as on bottom of a snare drum... but then i like those to be small diaphragm condensers... usually Neumann KM-84's.

SD or LD condensors on bottom. Depending on the drummer the same can work well on top too. 57 top AND bottom dosn't work so well for me anymore.

  4. I'm not quite sure of this, but I'm somewhat sure you have to reverse the phase on the bottom mic if you are using a top one too.
