    hi everbody.

I've been doing music for a while. but new to recording.
i wan't to make a recording studio really just for rap and
hip hop. i want to put out radio quality material but have no
idea on what to purchase. i'm thinking of a roland vs 2480 dvd
or a digidesign 002, to record on. A korg triton studio for the keyboard and an mpc 4000 or a roland mv 8000 for beats

please give me some imput :D

IMHO, you can start with some of what you just mentioned on your list. The VS2480 is a very good choice, but for the same amount of money, you can build a nice DAW (native) with some extras and still have enough money to purchase a decent mic and accessories. The triton and either the MPC4000 or MV8000 will do for your beats. I started out with a Korg M-1 & a Roland R-8 drum machine back in the day (late 80's/early 90's) and have never looked back.
