tracking is done. now, were cleaning up and doing some rough mixing on the PB using PTLE 6.4 with my HUI.
my PB is getting PISSSSED OFF, and it's bothering me ya know?

Using about 24 channel playback, with maybe 15 waves EQ/Comp plug ins working. only one reverb going in a AUX send. its quickly coming to a halt.

am I to expect this? or should I / can I squeeze more performance out of the PB?

I have a dedicated user for PT, with almost nothing else running for this user. tweaked the display properties, turned off screensavers, no classic installed, etc. any recommendations? or is this just what im going to get from this laptop?

    many thanks in advance...

I'm able to do sessions of 32-48 stereo tracks, using Logic Express on a 12 inch 1GHz Powerbook.

No doubt, the Freeze function allows me to get more milage.

You can Bounce tracks, re-import the tracks to free up CPU.

i'm running pt le on a 933mhz(slowest digi approved processor) g4 with 1.25gb of ram. i just finished my first mix. 20 tracks with about 22 plugs running and it pushed through like a champ. not sure if that helps to compare. oops i just realized you're running a powerbook and not a tower, so this probably wasn't much help at all. sorry.
