I run octopre micpres into a delta1010 and I want to start trying out some analog eq's and compressors. How would I route the analog gear through my setup?

...inbetween your mic pre and the delta.

Or out the outs and in the ins.

Ok so if I want to take a recorded guitar track and run it through a eq and I have to come out of the delta lets say channel1 and run through eq back into channel 2 on the delta or would I go back through the pre into the delta?

you shouldn't need to back into the pre. Just go from the delta, to EQ, back to the delta.

So would a patchbay make routing easier?

For one or two devices? Nah...

For a rack load of stuff - heck yeah!
