Hey there, ive stumbled into a little dilemma and was wondering if i could get some outside input.

So im upgrading my home studio a bit and was wondering about some new gear.

I can either get a Summit audio 2ba-221 pre and work with the mic i have (mxl 990). Or i can go with the new Golden Age Pre-73 and also afford an oktavamod mk-319.

    any ideas? thanks

The pres are different animals but the mic choice is a no-brainer. Once you plug in the MK319 you will realize just how bad that 990 has been.

yeah, i used a vintage sony that i had borrowed from a friend for a little while. And i really dug that mic.

I guess my question was should i upgrade my pre, or my mic first?
