Ignore - Error on my part - Rode NT4 capsules

I've been reading various posts here that talk about the NT5. Then it's further mentioned that the NT55 is a better choice as it has the same omni capsules as used by the NT5 AND has a nice set of cardioid capsules. I've also read that the NT55 cardioid capsules are the same as on the NT4. Here is the question.

I have an NT4. Are the capsules on the NT5 removable? If so, and I bought a pair of them, would putting my NT4 capsules on the NT5 be the same (or at least similar) to having an NT55 (Not withstanding that the NT55 has various switching options)

    Any thoughts?

It looks like all of the cardioid capsules on the NT-4, NT-5, and NT-55 are the same and removable. You can now buy the omni capsules separately and interchange them on all of these mics.

    Re: Rode NT4 capsules

Minor error here. The NT5 and stereo NT4 are fitted with cardioid capsules as standard. The NT55 is supplied with both cardioid and omni capsules.

I don't see the point in fitting omni capsules to the NT4, except perhaps change one of them on occasion to get a single omni channel. An NT5 fitted with an omni capsule should be sonically identical to the NT55, but the 55 has the pad and the HP filter.

    Doh!

You are correct, I had the omni/cardioid NT5/NT55 around the wrong way. So there is absolutely no point to my question.

    Thanx for the correction.
