Are pentium Motherboards better with Digidesign?

If I get a pentium board, will I have to get a new case?

If I get a SCSI hard drive, will I have to get rid of my current IDE?

    G'day Stone

At this stage the Athlons are out performing the pentiums, but that's not to say it will always be the case.

Check out this thread on the DUC. It's huge, so skip to the last page to get the latest info.

Your current case should be OK, but don't quote me on that ;) They're cheap as anyway.

Yes, you can run SCSI and IDE together.

  3. I'm very happy with my Athlon XP 1800+ system. It's giving me nearly double the performance on the "davec test" that I was getting with my 933 MHz PIII, and it cost a bit less than I paid for that about a year ago. HIGHLY recommended!

You may also want to look for a thread called "best PT system for under $900" over on the DUC.

The pci monitor on the System usage keeps going into the red. I haven't been doing anything different since I started recording, I don't understand why it's doing this now. All I can think of is tha fact that I have a lot more songs on the computer now and most of them have multipleplug-ins
