Hi Brad and all the other guys/girls :D you have the k sound here.

He told me that in New York he heard about it and that they called it there, the K-treatment.
His mixes were made in a homestudio and it was easily to make it very transparant in combination with the k-sound.

One of the compilations we had to do was from the eighties. You know, blondie, culture club etc.
They were allready mastered but when we run it through the K6 it opened the whole mix.

In three weeks time we will have a monitor surround system and with the sadie we will check the k6 again for the surround posibilities.

After that we have to make a decision.
But even my girlfriend (thank god she's a singer) likes it very much.

But first I go next friday to Bombay for some relaxation.

    Brad'quote:
hahahah, forgive my dutch/english, I didn't mean that I wanted to make it like the musical carmen or cats.
I shall try to explain it different.
It's also with eq's, you have eq's who are not so music friendly and you have eq's who are very music friendly.
This is also with the K6 it is blending in the music. I hope you understand this.
But really brad this thing adds a new dimension in your mastering room.

I will use it on the song you will send to me.
If you like I also can make a surround version from it and then I put the files on exabyte for you. Let me know.

b.t.w. when do you want the mastered version back, because I'm back from India in the first week of april.

This sounds interesting , how does it work ( I am affraid I am ignorant of the object in question ).

I have always been interested in alternatives to EQing as it is always a case of robbing peter to pay paul.

Incidently has anyone much experience of Ionizer , and there any pro hardware equivalents of this plugin.

    I know you were joking.
The funny thing is that, while I typing this at home I watch a documentary about musicals.
    I hope it's not a sign. :D

Robin, if you go to http://www.digido.com you enter the website of Bob Katz. Then choose K-stereo sound.
There is one thing you have to know, the K6 is also a surround processor but the K-algoritmes
are the same as in the kstereo processor.

One of my colleagues has the stereo version of Bob Katz's K-Stereo processor so I've had the pleasure of playing around with it on some projects.

I'll start by saying that if I had the cash, I'd love to have one for myself. I have used it to open up the sound on acoustic music recordings... (mostly classical orchestral/chamber music, but also some jazz) It can do such subtle things to the sound. In an extreme case, I had a live vocal jazz recording and I was able to completely dig out a burried lead vocal track.

I'd be very interested to hear the K-6 to hear what it does to that kind of program material.
