my friend writes lyrics (i think they fit most in r&b or alternative, but what do i know i play metal). she did sign up with this site called 'taxi' (i think is the name) even though i advised her to not really dump money into it yet.

where do people market that stuff, all the guys i listen to its do everything yourself, but are there genres or labels that use someone elses lyrics? (besides jingles) where can she go for that?

Personally I wouldn't trust the internet... If she is serious about writing lyrics for people then she could become a songwriter, but the only way I would do it nowadays is contacting real life corporations and ask them for advice. The internet might be easier than a phone call, but it's like cooking with a nuclear reactor instead of a microwave.

There is a large market, but it isn't necessarily easy to break into.

Send her here, before she sends $$$ to Taxi.
