will there be any problems if you use a mesa amp with a marshall cab?

Sure there will be. If you don't like the sound.

I've heard some really killer guitar tone from the exact opposite, marshall head with mesa cab was awesome. depending on which marshall cab it is could sound great or be crap. marshall has a wide range of quality in their product

Just make sure you match the impedance of the head with the speaker/cab configuration.

Consult your mesa boogie manual for further information.

As mentioned above, there should be no problems, auditory appeal notwithstanding. Matching up a head and a cab to get the sound you're after is a different story. I'm guessing that these are the two pieces available to you and that's why you're asking. If you have other options, though, and you're looking at finding a good fit for a particular sound, then maybe I can be of some small amount of help.

New guy here, btw. Hello, everybody!
