    Hello.
Can someone tell us about differences ?
    I own a Quadmic.
Makes it sense to look for a great River MicPre ?
    Thanks.

    Honestly......

It's like comparing a Lexus to a Bentley. Both are nice, but one is much nicer than the other.

You can do great things with both, but you are comparing a clean pre to a character pre.

    Hello therecordingart.
    Thanks for respond.
There are MicPres that color the sound.
    Like the old Neve ones.
    Others are straight clean.
I'm looking more for a clean noncolor Pre.
Is the great River ME-1NV the right one ?
    Any other top Pre's ?
    Thanks.

No....the Great River has some color to it. It you are looking for really clean I'd look at Grace or Sytek. There are plenty of others as well, but I've heard both the Grace and Sytek stuff in person. Really clean!!!

    Aha !
And what about the Earthworks ZDT 1024 ?
They say zero destortion, but is it coloring the sound ?
    Anybody knows it ?
    Thanks.
