I just ran into this article which describes mixing while rehearsing with your band for beginners. It's a good place start. But still it doesn't solve the problem of each person in the band pushing up their levels cause 'they can't hear themselves'... :-? It's never loud enough!

Post new topicad it yet but maybe time for a wireless headphone solution - turn off the speakers and have it so that you can control the mix and levels through the head phones.

    You know what I think?

Strip musicians of all volume controls.

Clothes too, as well as pretenses.

You might try giving them ear plugs, one of the reasons people keep turning up is hearing loss caused by the stage volume.

Otherwise it is usually just egonomic.
