    Happy Holydays
No sound. I paid for a twenty dollar optical cable hoping these connections would get me a digital audio* connect. The Tascam fw-1804 won't even read a signal comming in.
    Am l doing something wrong??

The Motif-6 uses S/PDIF protocol (2-channel) on its optical output. You will need an optical to RCA converter to connect this to the FW1804 S/PDIF coax inputs. Configure the FW1804 to use the S/PDIF instead of the ADAT input. Don't forget to clock from the incoming S/PDIF stream.
