Music Technology Dissertation Help!

Discussion in 'Studio Lounge' started by FakePlasticKidA, Jan 29, 2010.

  1. Hey guys, I'm new here so I hope this post is in the right forum?

Basically, I'm studying for an Honours degree in Creative Music Technology, and for my dissertation I've chosen to investigate how peer-to-peer file sharing has affected people working in various capacities in the music industry.

I was just wondering if any of you wouldn't mind taking a minute to fill in my questionnaires? They're only short, and it'd be a big help to me.

Effects of File Sharing on Musicians Survey - This survey is aimed at people working in the industry as musicians, e.g. a gigging band, session musician etc.

Effects of File Sharing on Those Who Record and Sell Music Survey - This survey is aimed at people recording or selling music, e.g. recording engineers, record company personnel, retail assistants etc.

Cheers in advance, your input would be MUCH appreciated

    P.S. This is genuine... I ain't jus' some spam-bot!

    Welcome to RO,

Over the years we've had quite a few ( first time posts ) of similar topics pointing to surveys. They really prove nothing. Because of this, most professionals don't engage in them. You are welcome to try a poll here. That's about as close as you will most likely get to any survey around here.

    All the best

  4. Hey, I appreciate that and I hope I didn't sound too cheeky :) I can understand where you're coming from. I'm not trying to change the world, just trying to finish my degree! Thanks for the feedback though

You don't sound cheeky at all, just naive and excited to use a web app.

I'm simply telling you the online app will tell you absolutely nothing other than a few people chimed into your survey, that you made an attempt to find something using an online survey. That's it. let me know how you make out. I've been wrong before.
