Can anyone tell me something about these boards? I know their analog and that's about it.

    Thanks

The Neotek Series-1 was and still is a great sounding board. Peter Gabriel bought one for his home studio back in 1979. Very good clean and full sounding mic pre and very good musical eq. The Neotek was considered the poor man's Neve. There are still studios that have and use this board. The first real records I ever engineered on were done on a Series-1.

Thanks for the quick reply AudioGaff. Do they all come with the built in patch bay? If so do you know the normalling (half, whole, none) that the bay uses? I'm trying to help out a man who purchased one that had been used as a 'CBS' board. Do you know much about that?
It has foldbacks and echo's is one of these pre and the other post fader? (it's been a long time since I used anything other than Aux's  )

Thank you in advance for your help with this interesting board.

Patty, Thanks for the comments. It has been a long time since I used a Series-1 console but I believe the pathcbay only comes if you also get the producers desk option and that would of likely been custom made/configured at time of purchase. Let's see, I believe foldbacks are pre fader for cue mixes, and echos were post fader used for effects. If the Neotek you are referring to was used for CBS as in the TV network, then it is very likely it was a custom made broadcast board. Most of the time consoles used for broadcasting purposes are custom designed and assembled for their specific requirements. Neotek was bought out by Martin Sound several years ago. They currently are doing refurb and maintenance on older Neotek's and I thought I heard that they are re-making the Neotek Elite consoles.
