New To The Recording Gear

Discussion in 'Microphones' started by Laura Nohrenberg, Jan 25, 2015.

  1. Hey all,

I have a brand new condenser mic and I'm a pretty keen singer - I'm just wondering what is the best gear to get in order to record some stuff with my mic. I don't have a DAW yet as I'm not sure which is the best to get. Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Hey this http://www.presonus.com/products/AudioBox-USB should get you recording. You'll need a mic cable, a computer that's not super old, and at least a pair of headphones. A set of powered speakers from krk or alesis or even jbl would be on the list. But start w the headphones you need them for tracking. At 30$ or so the akg k44s are tough to beat. I like these better than the Yamaha and sennheisser phones in this price range. All in all with a mic stand, $200 will get you going if you already own a computer.

The presonus comes w a good recording program so it's a great buy in features and quality
