    Hey ANUS Heads!
I got my Australian ANUS going (with XP Pro). Bloody beauty mate! Have not rigged up the Tascam US428 yet but that is on the agenda. Picked up a Rode condenser mic yesterday! However....the Plextor burner sounds like a 747 on take-off. Not an issue as such but it is incredibly annoying. Any ideas for muffling this noise?

That my friend is an inherent thing with plextor CDRW's!!! Indeed...when those things rev up it is loud!! I changed mone out for a DVR!! 4.7GB disks now baby! yeehaw!
I dont' think there's much you can other than accoustically baffling it!

just wanted to add my two cents here. i've noticed that the higher quality the disk (if there really is such a thing) the quieter the drive. i have some CD's that seem to be very quiet compared to some others. the loudest also seem to be the thinest or lightest disk. i'm glad to hear that i'm not the only one who found this anoying.

    Hey Uncle Opus and Dan,
i'm sad to hear about the Plex being inherently loud...man it's a shocker! i will try different media though to see if that makes a difference...i just got some HHB discs cheap...i'll test them.

And Opus...saw your last post at Tascam.com...that is sad too but i'm sure everyone around the world did benefit greatly from your knowledge...they should pay to join recording.org!!!!

yeah Michael...it was time for me to cut down on the forum support I was doing...especially over there.
This is different since I'm doing it for the fun of it..there I was actually doing Tascam's work for them...
also the fact that I have A LOT more work to do at Apogee with the MiniMe coming out and so forth...got tons of beta testing to do...oh joy oh joy! lol
