For processor I'd go for at least an Intel Pentium 4 3.0GHz CPU on an Abit or Asus motherboard. Go for a motherboard with an Intel 865PE or 875P chipset. These come in a variety of flavours with LAN, Firewire and RAID as options.

For RAM, I would recommend at least 1Gig. Get 2x 512Mb DDR400 (PC3200) memery. Getting 2 sticks allow for the use of Dual Channel. This substantially increases memory bandwith on these 800FSB motherboards. It's also beneficial to go for 'name' RAM. Brands like Corsair, OCZ, Geil, Mushkin, Crucial, Kingston, again depends on budget.

For Soundcards, this would very much depend on your budget. Something like a Digidesign digi002 or 002R will work with Pro Tools LE as well as Cubase SX via the digidesign ASIO driver. Other options are the new Emu 1820m, which has had rave reviews everywhere. Look also at cards by RME, MAudio and Echo.

Other options you might want to look at are Slient PSU's and low speed fans. But if you're only going to be using this DAW for mixing projects, then silence might not be an issue.

For DAW's you don't need anything special in regards to Graphics, but I would definetely go for an AGP card. Something like an Nvidia Geforce FX5200 will do the job, and get a card that has DVI as well as VGA. This will allow you to use 2 monitors if choose using a DVI to VGA adaptor that should come with the card.

These answers are based on a medium budget as I'm not sure of your budget.

    I only don't see why i need a didgidisgn

The transfer can be done with the fireport(pc card) , get the hd24 harddisk out of the cady , connect the hard disk with the fireport and you can see and Import the (wav) files in cubase SX

Is for the processor a amd equivalent for a (Intel Pentium 4 3.0GHz), OK :?:

    Thnx again,

    Remco

Yes an AMD equivalent will work.

Try a AMD Athlon XP 3000+ or 3200+ on a Abit NF7-s or NF7 Motherboard.
