I just got myself a nice Powerbook 1.67 and I'm looking to upgrade the ram all the way to 2 gig. Just wondering where the best place to buy is. This is my first mac...

    Thanks...

Mac hardware and the OS is sensitive to what brand you use.

I've bought from these guys for both my old G4 and my new g5 with no complaints.

    Ram for your powerbook g4

I'm working with several engineers from tech companies that use the Alum. 15" Powerbook G4 exclusively for wireless network deployment...the swear ram mfr is important, and directed me to http://www.crucial.com when I asked what to get for my PowerBook, which I purchase tomorrow...

Crucial certainly has a great web site! Well thought-out and easy to figure out exactly what you need(They seem to have done all the work for us!). I can't imagine a scam artist going to so much trouble - I'd buy from them, no problem...

when I had my Ibook I bought an off-brand. When upgrading the OS or any Apple-branded software, I had to remove the RAM before the installer would run.

Once installed, applications would run normally.

I now only buy RAM from Apple autorized dealers.
