I have an m-audio profire 610 and am using it with protools 8 m-powered. When I plug in my guitar, I can hear it thrrough my headphone and faintly through my speakers. When I play, it shows on the mixer in protools that it is getting sound but when I try to record I don't get a waveform nor any sound when I play back.
    Help?!

More info. Is the track record enabled? Have you gone through the getting started manual step by step to ensure you haven't missed anything? This would be the first thing to do.

Yes the track record is enabled and I did go through the quick start thing step by step but I may have missed something.

Ok. So, the track is record enabled. The correct input is enabled for the track. Click record to put the daw in record mode and click play to begin recording.

Yes all record buttons are enabled. So, I have tried once more and found that I could during one instance, see a wave form from recording my guitar but I was still unable to listen to it in playback. Also, I tried recording midi with my keyboard and the information showed up on the track but also was inaudible during playback. Thank you for responding!

Ok. Question: where do you have your monitors plegged in? Or are you using pc speakers to monitor? If yes, that is your problem. You need to monitor from the "profire".

Well isn't it possible to monitor with the headphone jack?

OK. I have to ask one more question. Have you watched the included DVD? There's a lot of info there on just getting things set up properly.

Another thing, have you asked over at the Digi User Confrence? There's a forum there for M-Powered Users who probably could help you out a bit better with your specific set up.
