I am using pro tools 7.1, with an M-box 2, running win xp pro sp2. But sometimes when i want to make a fade (normaly a cross fade), i get an error message saying something about the fade being outside region bounds or there not being enough audio pressent in the region. Does anyone know how to solve this?

not enough overlap of the two audio regions

there may not be enough audio so you will have to move the fade to where there is enough overlap

    make the fade shorter

it could be that you have cut one of the audio regions such that there is a very small gap OR a very very small region getting in the way

ZOOM in a take a look and re-edit both end of the regions ... click and crag and then drag back to where you want them
    then re-apply the fade
