PT mixbuss potluck....

I apologize if this suggestion has already been put out there, but I'm always curious to compare/exchange mixes done entirely *inside* PT with others who are doing the same. This isn't an attempt to start yet another debate over the Pro Tools mix bus, math, etc. Let's just assume for a moment that there is some degree of wierdness there. I'm sure many of you still choose to mix (and even master) inside PT, given the conveniences therein. So I'd just like to see how good some of the rest of you are getting at it, before we all rush out and buy the new HD systems. Not a contest, because we all know that so much of this is terribly subjective, and there are different styles of music, and tastes, etc. More just a 'potluck' dinner if you will, and maybe a blurb about some of the plugins you use, techniques etc. Problem is, where do we upload our (gasp) MP3s? Anyhow, just a thought. I'd post this in the PT DAW forum but things look quiet over there these days. All the cool people are over here.

You wanna organize the host site for a zillion MP3's? (I don't!)

I prefer just swapping tips, once music get's involved it becomes weird cause personal taste comes into it i.e - you like THAT? or you call THAT music?

We are "producers engineers and hardware" folks here... !!

Roll your sleves up and just get to work on the s**t type of people!

I dunno, perhaps it's the typing I would be phobic of (I'm v slow) I mean, wadda ya do - write a BOOK on how you did a tune?

    As a reference,

I produced and mixed the following all within Pro Tools:

    "Crush" Mandy Moore
    "Every Other Time" LFO
"Did You Understand That" Willa Ford
"I Hope You Dance" Lee Ann Womack Pop Version
    "Wild" Poe (Pop Version)

    Nah, great idea!

Altho rather than swapping MP3's, maybe some more of you PT jedi masters could follow Produceher's lead and post a short list of your commercially available CD tracks that were done "all-in-PT".

I love the idea! How could you have a problem with a bunch of "mixing all in ProTools" enthusiasts posting stuff in one place? I would love to hear what everybody is up to! Let the music do the talkin'! Might even post something myself...someday!

Produceher, I just listened to a couple of your mixes....I'm blown away! Very nice! Done all in PT huh? Rockin!

Obyone, working with Pete Townshend or his music couldn't have sucked too bad... I'm a huge fan of that guy! I feel like playing guitar all of a sudden, you guys have got me all fired up! Thanx! Flush :)
