Have you guys evaluated the reverb plugins for TDM systems?
Seems Altiverb and Lexicon really rules. However, Lexiverd is not available for PT HD systems, right?
If anyone has already used Altiverb, is it really power hungry?

    Thanks

ooooops. I mistyped the post title: I meant TC Reverb/ Mega Reverb in the evaluation.
    Thanks

    Hi Alecio,

any convolution based reverb such as Altiverb is going to be very cpu intensive in the highest quality settings. this is somewhat dependent upon the length of the impulse response used for the convolution. It's good stuff, though. Any of those tools really require quality impulses in order to achieve their full potential. Their impulses are supposed to be top notch although I have not heard them.

Just print the output of your Alti... I might print 4 or 5 stereo tracks and automate between them for different types of feel.... way better than trying to modulate a verb plug considering the damn sunspots and such you get with auto data! It's alot easier to run 60 tracks than 60 plugs! I'll use a setting on the verses and then change on the choruses etc. etc. This technique really makes your mixes EVOLVE!!!! TRY IT YOU'LL LIKE IT!!! How about the G5's... you'll be running about 3 or 4 instanses of the power plugs... In real time!!!! cant wait! Hope this helps, HVK

Yes, Harley I do agree with you. In fact I print complex reverb combis and so as to free up some power hungry models; concerning hardware boxes, sometimes I do the same also.

I try not to process TOO much and just let the talent shine... if it's there. But were still in the 3rd and 4th generation of CPU's, and until we get to the next generation, were just going to have to use our creative chops-!! I remember using a fostex 4 track and yielding some VERY interesting results, we keep getting more and more spoiled. I'm just going to wait till the G5's come out and then I know alot of my CPU headroom problems are going to be a thing of the past, especially using the freeze function in DP4.......

I see. DP4 is quite cool although I have never used.
    Nice weekend
