I was perusing ebay as one does and came across this http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/122041488369?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT

Its a usb powered and controlled recording punchlight.

You assign it to your DAW and when you hit record it lights up. Interesting concept to say the least, if not a novelty item and a little on the high side price-wise.

But I could see its practicality of use in some aspects...as long as the usb lead was long enough that every time you hit the record button the thing doesn't light up in your face...:D

    - Thoughts anyone ?

LOL... I don't always want the client to know that they are being recorded. Some of the best takes I ever recorded were by telling the client "we're just gonna go through this a few times for you to warm up..."

$199 AU does seem to be pretty pricey for a lightbulb. ;)
