QUESTION ABOUT BOSS ME 80

    Hello,

I´m about to buy a BOSS ME 80 GUITAR PEDAL, however, I want it to have the next function:

I need to be able to switch from one effect to another distant effect without having to press a button a number of times before reaching the desired effect. For example, let´s say I have a pedal that has 10 effects, and I want to change from effect # 1 to effect # 8. Then, I want to be able to change from effect # 1 to effect # 8 by only pressing one button, one time, not having to press that button 7 times (to change it from 1 to 8). By the way, if this function has a name, can you tell me what is it?

Let me know if this pedal has this option. If it doesn´t, let me know some similar alternatives.

    Regards!

I don't own the ME80 but like most units you can modify the patches. What you want to do is to align the sounds with your set list. But if you play 40 songs, that meens using using 40 patchs (in which some will be identical but placed in the order of the songs).
I'd say 99% of the units available can do that..

The question is how many patches do you need.. Most pro guitar player I know will use the same guitar cab for the whole show and have a few pedals to change the sound.
A delay, comp and overdrive and your guitar's output can give you many colors already...

Ah forget what I say, I'm just an old fart who just value good playing over gizmos ;)

    Hello,

Thanks for your reply. One more question to elucidate this matter: what I don´t want to do is to erase a patch in order to get close to the other patch. For example, if I want to change from effect 1 to effect 10, by pressing only one button (one time), I don´t want to erase effect 2 (or any other nearby effect) in order to get effect 1 and effect 2 together so that I can change them by pressing one button. I want to be able to change from effect 1 to effect 2, by pressing only one button, without having to erase/modify any other effect. Do you think that most pedals would have this option?

I know I was very repetitive, but I´m about to buy this pedal and I want to make sure I´m making a great investment.

    Thanks!

You really need the manual to get their take on it.. but those units all have some backup fonctions.. and with most you can recall on any locations.
The me80 is based on a multipedal setup replacement. on each patch if you push on Delay you get delay.. you can set different delay decay and feedback from patches to patches.. but it remains a delay on one pedal switch. You can make the patch with the delay active or not. if the delay comes at the middle of the song...
