    Hello,

I recently purchased a Zoom MRS 802B 8-track digital recorder. Although, I have studied the user manuel mixing the tracks is a tricky thing for a beginner.

I know that mixing is an art form and respect those that are able to do it. Does anyone know where I can get good information on the basics and theory of mixing? I don't know if there is a website (possibly on here) that I can go to or not. Preferably a free site because I blew all my clams on my recorder!

    Thanks for your help,
    Tony

its kind of in the eye of the beholder. one person might liek one mix. one migh tlike the other.

just depends on what you want out of ur song the most.

    http://www.tweakheadz.com/guide.htm

on that site look at index on left. Check out "Mixing 101", "Mix Methods", and "Mastering". Actually the whole guide is good to reference.

I used to have the little brother to that recording device. I strongly recommend taking the tracks and mixing them on your computer using anything from the freeware Audacity, on up to some expensive software. Whatever you can afford.
