Roland VS-2480

    May also want to look at the AKAI DPS 24.... I love mine, and several 2480 users have changed over to this box.

    VS-2480

    Guys the VS-2480 is a great unit!

    There are a few things it has that most other hardware-based recorders don't. DVD-R backup and Plugins. In addition, the R-BUS side will give you AES format, which is a blast. There is a software/hardware product that allows the VS2480 to export/import .wav, and save backups right on to your HDD on the PC. The product is called VirDIS:

    I think VS-Planet is the best place to ask about the VS2480, as there are hundreds of users. True some switched briefly to the DPS24 but within a short period also moved on to Computer based recording. Some stayed with the DPS but there aren’t too many people once they have used the VS2480 have decided to switch. It would be a very small percentage. You really need to research the VS2480 fully and then decide on alternatives IMHO.
