Apple just came out with a new OSX browser called "Safari". It's still in BETA.
Surf ... surf ... surfin safari
I found it quite amusing that they compare it to Netscape, IE, and Chimera, but that they don't dare compare it to iCab! An interesting thing that I found-out is that Safari is loosely based on Konqueror, which is a Linux browser.
Amazingly, Apple isn't demanding more cash in their pockets for this thing! You can download it free of charge. Personally, I'm not loading OSX back on my Mac just to check it out. I'll have Mandrake Linux on my Mac in the next few days, so I'll have Konqueror.
If you try Safari, let us know what you think of it.

Mario, have you tried iCab? It's available for both OSX and "Classic". I'm on a 56k modem, so the browser I use makes a big difference for me.
I tried Netscape several times (different versions) and liked it less than any of the Mac browsers. It looks nice, and it's features are based on good ideas, I guess they're just poorly implemented. It's just too buggy to be able to use at all. Mozilla is basically the same thing.
I.E. is a well-organized, stable browser, but it's a bloated, lumbering pig. They really need to do something with it's appearance, too.
Opera is just too rigid. It's very limited when it comes to customizing the toolbars. Also, I see no point in paying for a browser that's inferior to the free ones. Sure, you can use their "free" version, if you don't mind the fact that they have their advertisement taking-up a HUGE section of your screen real estate.
Cyberdog is a Mac browser that was made by Apple a LONG time ago, but was never officially released to the public. When they were done with it, they gave it out to the public domain. It's VERY simple, and that's the beauty of it. There are a LOT of people still using it and loving it. It's actually my second browser.
ICab ... well, I don't know what else you could want from a browser. It's lite, fast, free, feature-rich, VERY high tech, and it even fully adapts to Kaleidoscope. For years, they've been saying that they're going to charge for it someday, and if they ever do, I'll gladly pay for it. Now, how is it that a little, bitty company can make a better browser than all of the big companies that have thousands of people working on their technology? It's a mystery to me, but I'm just glad that they're doing it. Chalk one up for the underdog!

Kewl! I'd really like to know what a new user thinks about it, since I've been using it for a couple of years, watching it develop. The download is only 2.59Mb, so even on a 56k modem, you'll have it in a matter of minutes. Here's the download link ...
    iCab 2.9 :)
Check it out, and let us know what you think.

A new BETA version of Mandrake Linux was just released. I few guys were talking about it on one of the tech forums that I visit, and said that the brand new version of Konqueror is a vast improvement over prior releases.

    Safari on OS 10.2.3

    Faster than Ali's feet.

Does everything I need except store a lot of forms info as with IE "Auto-fill".

Boots in a flash -- has it's own Google window.

To overtype in the URL field, you have to click on the icon rather than anywhere in the field. A nitpick.

It took very little getting used to really.

Good beat. Fun to dance to. Gave it a 91.

    Safari in 10.2.4.

The reason the use Safari over all others is this...

    Apple + K - block pop-up windows! Yes :D That's what I'm talking about.

Mind you it still doesn't like Flash content within a frameset.
