Shure or Collins?

I am out for a new electric guitar mic. and my first intuition was Shure's SM57. But what I also found out was that Collins make what I see an exact copy of the Shure. Is there no difference between these two mics soundwise or does the look cheat me?

Collins gear was made more for the amature radio market than anything else. I am not familiar with a Collins Shure 57 clone however. Do you have a model number for the Collins clone? How about a link to a website with pictures and specs?

I have a feeling the best bet is to go with a SM57 from Shure... they are not that expensive, last a long time and are very durable. You can practically drive nails with a 57.

The only thing I can find was a German site with specs.
