I record using sony sound forge on my laptop. At the moment im using a behringer ultravoice mic pluged into the input of my ultragain pro then the output is going straight into my laptop mic in.
Im pretty sure that is wrong and the mic should be the output but i dont seem to have any way of doing that with the leads i have.
Im sure there is something i can plug it into as well as the preamp to then go to the laptop, would that sourt out the noise?
Heres a link to a short clip of it:

Without even looking, I can tell you that the reason you are getting distortion is that you are putting a line level output into a mic level input. In other words you are overloading the mic input on your laptop.

If your laptop has a line input, try that. Otherwise you'll need to invest in a proper interface.
