Tonight again I got bored of the sucky sound and latency issues when using my computers audio in to demo songs. I've been using Presonus Firepod firewire audio interface at the rehearsal studio, but can't be bothered to carry it home everytime. So what I'm looking for is an affordable, high quality USB2.0 / Firewire audio interface to do record (and monitor) without latency and to get the best out of my sound. I will mainly use the interface for playing electric guitar "dry" in and getting the sound out of guitar modelling plugins as well as recording vocals (I have a really good Neumann condenser as a mic). After a short research I found Apogee Duet, which sounds really lucrative, but as it is pretty expensive (and I'm willing to pay for sound, not that much for design) I was wondering if there's any other "boxes" that would be good for me. Mac/Apple/Logic - friendly, 1-2 channel interfaces that I could also use as external sound cards to boost my iTunes. Thanks in advance.
