Weird noise coming from KRK Rokit 6 Something Loose?

So I just finished my studio hooked everything back up and tried tracking my mesa single rectifier and 4x12 (miked one speaker) Anyways anytime the track got a little bass heavy my left speaker sounded like something was fluttering inside. I hit the roll off switch on my pre and it took it away for last nite but I think something's wrong because it was only the one speaker not both. Plus at some point I may want my guitar tracks to be the low boy of the mix so I need to address this.
I'm going to double check to make sure the volume isn't louder in that speaker than the other but something feels off. Any suggestions?

    Probably a burnt voice coil.

How does the driver look from the front, any pieces of foam or paper stuck between the grill and the cone?

Are there any signs of dry rot anywhere around the cone?

Switch your speakers around to make sure that the problem isn't something else.

hello strangely, i have the same problem. One of the speakers (rokit 8) does the strange noise sometimes even its not connected to anything.
    So any suggestions so far?

    thanks.
