My budget is about $500 for an Audio Interface. I've been looking through tons of audio interfaces and I'm not sure which one I should get. Which one produces the highest sound quality?

Here are the one's that stand out to me
    1. Native instruments kontrol 1
    2. M-Audio Fast Track Ultra
    3. Focusrite Saffire 6 USB Interface

I'll be recording only guitar and synth and using a windows vista laptop. Any help would be appreciated!

I would go with 2. or 3., you can not record anything with Kontrol 1, that is a midi device with corresponding software. The only advantage with the M-Audio is you can use Pro Tools with it, if you don't care about Pro Tools, then I would go with the Focusrite because it will have better pres.

Have you checked out Echo Audiofire 8? Served me well for years. Great Sounding converters. Sounds like it should cost more than it does.

You could pick up a MOTU ultralite for that a year or so old... well worth it
