Argus 200 Reel to Reel Tape Recorder Vintage 50's - 60's


was wondering if this is worth the 15 bucks. i know thats super cheap but i don't want to get something that records like crap after i get it worked on. thanks! this site rocks!

I've never heard of this brand or model. Got any more info on it? What are you looking to do with it?

Seems like a consumer product, anyway. If so, not really worth putting much extra time/care into it. If you really want to get something more pro, (or pro-sumer) look into the machines still being sold on Ebay; you should be looking at brands like Tascam/Teac, MCI, Fostex, Sony, Revox, and even much older brands like Ampex, Scully, Presto, etc.
